We offer advanced surgery which often negates the requirement to travel to the mainland for referral procedures. With our new CT scanner to complement diagnosis of surgical conditions many procedures can be assessed and treated at our island-based clinic.
A wide variety of procedures are offered in addition to laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and routine operations.
Please contact us for more information or book a consult with one of our surgeons.
Caring for your pet’s teeth is just as important as caring for your own. Aside from bad breath, ongoing pain, discomfort and potential loss of appetite, poor dental health can lead to serious complications including heart disease.
We recommend a routine dental check every six months for your dog or cat to ensure that their teeth are clean and healthy and we can then identify and treat any infections early to avoid any costly/serious complications developing.
Our friendly nurses can advise you on good oral hygiene for your pet, tooth brushing techniques and a host of preventative dental products that can help.
We have a fully equipped, state of the art dental theatre with anaesthetic, oxygen, dental drills, descalers and polishing units. When we perform dentistry we are looking to preserve as many teeth as possible and will only perform extractions on any diseased or painful teeth if absolutely necessary.
If you would like more information on dental hygiene or an estimate for any dental work please contact us.
Laparoscopy/ Keyhole Surgery
Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery performed by inserting a very thin surgical telescope or endoscope through tiny incisions in the body. In many cases the wounds are only 5mm in size.
The benefits include a rapid recovery, less pain or complications, no more buster collars, or multiple days of leave from work, and an overall less stressful experience.
We offer a full range of Laparoscopic Surgery, but our most frequently performed surgeries are Laparoscopic Bitch Spays. There are many advantages to having your pets neutered and we strongly recommend that you do so unless planning on breeding. For all cases we strongly recommend this less invasive method of neutering.
Laser therapy is a ground-breaking new treatment that actually stimulates the body’s own healing. The Mobile Vets are very excited to be the first Island vets to offer this exclusive new service which has previously only been available in America.
Many conditions including arthritis, chronic joint inflammation and stiffness can benefit from this therapy. We routinely use the laser treatment to facilitate wound healing after surgery, reduction of scar tissue, anal gland inflammation and to reduce the risk of infection after dental operations. It is very effective in general pain management.
The painless laser light promotes increased circulation by drawing oxygen and nutrients to the treated area, promoting the acceleration of the healing process to reduce swelling and pain. The treated area returns to normal, pain is relieved and mobility is restored.
Many dogs enjoy the laser therapy as it’s pain free, no sedation is required and each session lasts only 15 minutes.
Our results have been tremendous with many dogs being able to walk and exercise happily without solely relying on drugs to control pain after treatment.
We have an exclusive introductory price of £150 for a three week treatment plan (lasting 6 sessions).
