Our History

The Mobile Vet Service launched in May 2013 carrying the vision of providing Island residents with a professional, affordable and personalised service to the doorstep.

The concept of a mobile vet that provides all the services a traditional vet does was brand new to the UK. The fully equipped Mobile Unit maintained the provision of high standard diagnostic and treatment facilities whilst convenience served at its core. This contrasted other veterinary services which provide basic in-house services!

As a practice we aim to ensure that the specific needs of you and your pets are fulfilled. We understand the precious bond that we have with our pets and aim to preserve an attentive, caring service.

The Founders

Having grown up on the Island, Dan attended Ryde High School. Then studied veterinary medicine at Bristol University and graduated in 2005. After graduation, he joined a mixed veterinary practice in Wiltshire, where he worked for a few years before returning to the Island with his wife, Kirsty, who just happened to be a veterinary nurse!

"We both knew that we wanted to do things a bit differently here – with a smile, a gentle hand and the space and time to do things right"

After working in a few practices on the Island, Dan & Kirsty continued to feel that there was something missing. They yearned for a work-life balance that meant they could spend more time with their young family but still provide a caring professional service to local pets.
